Located on Education Highway in Champion Township near the Kent State University Trumbull Campus and the Trumbull Career and Technical Center, Clarence Darrow MetroPark is home of Young's Run Disc Golf Course. The park also offers a picnic area and walking access through most of the 32 acres. It has a diversity of wildlife and has been selected as an observation site for Trumbull County's Audubon Christmas bird count.

Clarence Darrow MetroPark became county property in 1971 and was dedicated to honor the famous defense lawyer and Kinsman native in 1975. Young's Run Disc Golf Course was established in 1996.

Activities & Amenities
Young's Run Disc Golf Course provides a challenging 18-hole permanent course suitable for tournaments and recreational use. Events are held regularly throughout the year. Other activities include nature observation, horseback riding, geocaching and hiking. Winter activities include sledding and cross country skiing. Several picnic tables and grills are available. Portable restrooms are in the park year round. Handicapped parking spots are available in the paved parking area. Course scorecard and map [PDF 2 pages]

The board received a NatureWorks grant to construct a pavilion near the parking area. Workers from Youth Build of Trumbull County constructed the eight, 10-foot table facility. The pavilion was completed May 2011. To reserve the pavilion for your event, submit the Group/Event Request Form - Release and Waiver Form, March 2010 [MS Word OR PDF 3 pages].

Kent State University's Trumbull Campus has recently opened a nine-hole disc golf course on its grounds. Not far from Young's Run Disc Golf Course, the first tee is near the student center in the Administration Building. The new course was designed by Bill Flynn.
